John Baker was a true Boy Scout. Not just in spirit and character, but literally an Eagle Scout, and that was a very important part of his identity. As a Scout, he made two treks to the Philmont Scout Ranch and trips to the Florida Sea Base and Tinnerman Wilderness Canoe Base in Ontario. John was also an accomplished adult serving honorably in the United States Navy and was a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy.
Unfortunately, a few years ago John passed away from brain cancer. A brief happy social with appetizers and drinks will be held to celebrate his life and dedicate a fund at the local Boy Scouts of America in his honor. The proceeds from this fundraiser will be in John’s name benefiting local Scouts in central and southern Ohio, particularly in Worthington.
