2017 Darby Creek District Volunteer Awards

Categories: Darby Creek

Darby Creek District held its Eighth Annual Volunteer Recognition Dinner on May 4th, 2017 at Indian Run United Methodist Church of Dublin. Special thanks to John Francis, Darby Creek Advancement Chair for organizing this dinner and bringing all the awards together.

We started off the evening with a presentation for Camp Discovery Day held at Camp Lazarus. This is a program for kids with special needs to get a chance to experience the fun and friendship of Scouting. Camp Discovery Day is Saturday, May 13, 2017 and they are in need of volunteers to help, so please sign up here to be a part of that great program.

Following the Camp Discovery presentation was a fabulous barbecue chicken and pulled pork dinner provided by Chris Lewis of Troop 111. Chris even left the baked beans in his smoker for three hours, and the vinegar based sauce was the best. I could rave on and on about how good the food was, but we are all reading this to find out who won the volunteer awards. So without further ado, I present this year’s Darby Creek District Volunteer Award winners.
