We had a wonderful group discussion this month led by Melinda Comstock. Learned a lot about ADD/ADHD, autism and other disability awareness. It was shocking to discover the number of children that are affected by learning disabilities and diagnoses. These things were not as prevalent or went without being diagnosed just a few decades ago. (Yes, I’m THAT old.) We are blessed to have a number of parents in our district with unique awareness as their children have been diagnosed. Thanks to everyone that attended and shared their personal experiences.
Please fill out those volunteer award recommendation forms and get them turned in. We need these to recognize your volunteers at the awards dinner. The dinner will be held May 3rd, but don’t wait because a lot has to happen to get those awards printed.
Also, if it has not already been done, contact Jeff Myers to schedule your Friends of Scouting presentations. Sooner is better as the pledge cards allow the person to spread out payments over the course of the year. More months mean smaller payments!
Patrick Higgins our executive pro tem, has left the Simon Kenton Council. A replacement District Executive has not yet been announced.
I hope to see you March 1st where Boy Scouts will talk about Troop management software and Cub Scouts will talk about membership retention. Here are the current flyers from the February roundtable:
