The Brownsea Island Adventure is a specialized program for scouts who are in their first year of scouting, often having just crossed over fro Cub Scouting, though first year scouts of all ages are encouraged to participate int he program.

The program is built around the idea that rather than focusing on just completing requirements, a scout should be well trained in their skills, and the completion of rant requirements is only part of the adventure.  At the end of the week, hard-working Brownsea scouts will walk away with a strong foundation in basic scouting skills, several requirements from Tenderfoot to First Class, and a merit badge of two to along with it.
