DESCRIPTION:The Wilderness First Aid course provides an intensive 18+ hours of training covering injury assessment\, rescuer safety\, bleeding\, shock\, orthopedic injuries\, long term patient care\, and treatment with materials at hand during practice sessions. \nWhen you are participating in outdoor activities that take you more than 1 hour away from medical care\, wilderness first aid provides a significant difference in survival and effects of injuries. \nThe cost for the Wilderness First Aid course is $100 per person and you must attend both days from 8AM to 6PM each day. EACH STUDENT IS REQUIRED TO BRING THEIR BACKPACK PACKED FOR LAND BASE OUTDOOR ADVENTURES. SUMMARY:2024 Wilderness First Aid
DESCRIPTION:The Wilderness First Aid course provides an intensive 18+ hours of training covering injury assessment\, rescuer safety\, bleeding\, shock\, orthopedic injuries\, long term patient care\, and treatment with materials at hand during practice sessions. \nWhen you are participating in outdoor activities that take you more than 1 hour away from medical care\, wilderness first aid provides a significant difference in survival and effects of injuries. \nThe cost for the Wilderness First Aid course is $100 per person and you must attend both days from 8AM to 6PM each day. EACH STUDENT IS REQUIRED TO BRING THEIR BACKPACK PACKED FOR LAND BASE OUTDOOR ADVENTURES. The course is a combination of classroom and practical exercises\, all taught by a youth-led staff\, modeling the best in leadership skills\, using the teaching E.D.G.E. \nThe course is about vision based team building with a wide variety of fun and challenging activities. The experience provides an opportunity for the participant to meet and develop teams from Crews\, Troops and Ships from all over the Council’s diverse membership.
