DESCRIPTION:The Wilderness First Aid course provides an intensive 18+ hours of training covering injury assessment\, rescuer safety\, bleeding\, shock\, orthopedic injuries\, long term patient care\, and treatment with materials at hand during practice sessions. \nWhen you are participating in outdoor activities that take you more than 1 hour away from medical care\, wilderness first aid provides a significant difference in survival and effects of injuries. \nThe cost for the Wilderness First Aid course is $100 per person and you must attend both days from 8AM to 6PM each day. EACH STUDENT IS REQUIRED TO BRING THEIR BACKPACK PACKED FOR LAND BASE OUTDOOR ADVENTURES. DESCRIPTION:Frontier District Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills (IOLS)\nIntroduction to Outdoor Leader Skills (IOLS) gives adult leaders the practical knowledge they need to help Scouts to learn outdoor skills. The skills presented closely follow the Boy Scout Handbook and rank advancement requirements. All the skills from Tenderfoot to First Class are covered in this training. \nThis is a required training course for all Scoutmaster and Assistant Scoutmasters. It is also encouraged for anyone who will be participating on campouts regularly to consider taking this class. The training is designed to help all adult leaders regardless of experience level feel comfortable performing and supervising these skills with youth. \nWhen: May 4 – May 5\, 2024\nWhere: Camp Oyo\nTime: Saturday at 8 AM – Sunday at 5:00 PM\nCost: $25 per person \nRegistration deadline is Friday\, April 19\, 2024 \nQuestions?
