DESCRIPTION:The Wilderness First Aid course provides an intensive 18+ hours of training covering injury assessment\, rescuer safety\, bleeding\, shock\, orthopedic injuries\, long term patient care\, and treatment with materials at hand during practice sessions. \nWhen you are participating in outdoor activities that take you more than 1 hour away from medical care\, wilderness first aid provides a significant difference in survival and effects of injuries. \nThe cost for the Wilderness First Aid course is $100 per person and you must attend both days from 8AM to 6PM each day. EACH STUDENT IS REQUIRED TO BRING THEIR BACKPACK PACKED FOR LAND BASE OUTDOOR ADVENTURES. BRING LUNCH\, SNACKS\, DRINKS\, AND BE PREPARED TO BE OUTDOORS (no matter what the weather.) \nInstruction is in a classroom setting with some sections held outdoors\, so please plan accordingly and dress for the weather. \nCertification includes:\nWilderness First Aid – 2 year\nCPR\AED – Adult\Child and Infant – 2 year \nThis course is a requirement for units traveling to a BSA National High Adventure such as Philmont\, Northern Tier\, SeaBase\, Summit or participating in some high adventure activities when medical help may be delayed. \nParticipants MUST be 14 years of age or older in order to participate\, at the time of the course! \nCourse is limited to 20 participants (first come first serve). \nNO REFUNDS! \nQuestions? The course is a combination of classroom and practical exercises\, all taught by a youth-led staff\, modeling the best in leadership skills\, using the teaching E.D.G.E. \nThe course is about vision based team building with a wide variety of fun and challenging activities. The experience provides an opportunity for the participant to meet and develop teams from Crews\, Troops and Ships from all over the Council’s diverse membership. SUMMARY:NYLT Course 3 - Weekend 1
DESCRIPTION:NYLT Course 3\nWhere: Camp Lazarus \nWhen:  August 9-11 and August 23-25\, 2024 \nCost: $250 \nScouts must be 13 years of age or older and at least 1st Class to participate! \nNYLT is a 6-day experience based on the activities of a typical unit during a month of program. The course is a combination of classroom and practical exercises\, all taught by a youth-led staff\, modeling the best in leadership skills\, using the teaching E.D.G.E. \nThe course is about vision based team building with a wide variety of fun and challenging activities. The experience provides an opportunity for the participant to meet and develop teams from Crews\, Troops and Ships from all over the Council’s diverse membership. This experience should model those times in scouting\, school and future activities where it is required to form working teams from complete strangers\, and accomplish leadership training activities\, having fun while making permanent friends. \nRegister
