Camp Lazarus

Camp Lazarus is an ideal setting for weekend activities and includes cabin and shelter rentals, BB/rifle and archery ranges, a pond for fishing, a swimming pool, an activity field, large dining hall with kitchen and plenty of shelter and tent camp space.

Camp Lazarus is located at 4422 Columbus Pike Delaware, Ohio.

All of Simon Kenton Council camps offer year-round camping experiences for individual Scout units, families, organizations and businesses.  We offer buildings and space of various sizes to accommodate your needs.  Let us know if you need help finding a space that works for you or would like programming provided for your group at an extra fee.

1. The Scout Oath and Law will be the basis for personal conduct by ALL persons using the facilities.

2. Twenty-one (21) year old leadership must be present with the unit at all times. A second leader, age 18 or older, must also be present. Youth Protection rules will be strictly enforced.

3. Propane stoves and lanterns are recommended for groups using cabins or campsites. Liquid Fuel stoves and lanterns are permitted in campsites and some cabins. All stoves and lanterns must be commercial products recommended for camping use. A responsible adult must be directly responsible for all fuel storage and fueling of stoves and lanterns. Bulk fuel containers must be stored with the Camp Ranger. No liquid fuel including charcoal lighter is to be used for starting fires. No chainsaws permitted.

4. No rock climbing/rappelling permitted without permission from the Camp Administration, anyone found on or near rock or cliffs will be sent home.

5. No firearms, including air rifles or pistols, are allowed. Fire crackers or fireworks (including sparklers) are also prohibited.

6. No pets are allowed in camp.

7. The Boy Scouts of America prohibits the use of alcoholic beverages and controlled substances at encampments or activities on property owned and/or operated by the Boy Scouts of America, or at any activity involving participation of youth members. Adult leaders should support the attitude that young adults are better off without tobacco and may not allow the use of tobacco products at any BSA activity involving youth participants. All Scouting functions, meetings, and activities should be conducted on a smoke-free basis, with smoking areas located away from all participants. No smoking in any building on any council property.

8. All cars and trucks must be parked and unloaded in the main parking lot.  All vehicles must be parked according to instructions of the Campmaster and Camp Ranger.

9. Carts are provided for transporting all camping gear to your tent site or cabin.  If you have equipment too large or heavy to transport in the carts, please make arrangements with the Campmaster. For safety reasons, vehicles need to remain in designated parking areas outside of camp.  Exceptions may be made for those with handicapped placards only with the explicit approval of the Campmaster.

10. Leave your campsite cleaner and in better shape than you found it. Remember, someone will be leaving a campsite for you. All fires are to be started only in established fire rings.

11. Use of the kitchen in the Dining Hall requires specially trained staff, which will be determined on an individual group basis by the Director of Camping.

12. The Simon Kenton Council provides accident insurance for all in-council units. Each unit attending camp must provide a roster form upon arrival. Any accident that occurs at camp must be reported to the Campmaster.

To reach Camp Lazarus, follow Route 23 north from Columbus towards Delaware. Nine miles north of I-270 on the
left side of the highway, just north of the Delaware Area Career Center. Camp is two miles south of Delaware.
