Welcome to Simon Kenton Council’s new council website.  Our new site is designed to be a user friendly resource for Scouting leaders, families and the community.  We realize with any new site, it is going to take time for everyone to get used to the new organization and format.  Please take some time to familiarize yourself with the new layout and design and let us know your thoughts.

There will be some of a transition with the site, so we appreciate your patience.  There are a lot of volunteers and staff contributing to this new site so we hope you will find more information is available and stays current for your use.  If there is something missing that you would like to see on the site, let us know.  We want this to be your one-stop shop for Scouting information in the Simon Kenton Council.

We hope you enjoy and stay tuned for continued improvements to the way we communicate to our Scouting family.

    Where do I log in to run Advancement Reports? The “banner” up in the top right corner of the home page does not recognize my ID/password.

    Under “resources” you will find online advancement. You can enter advancements using your MyScouting account.

      You can find all day camp information under Events then Activities. They are all also upcoming events on our homepage. see you at camp!

      You can find the full staff directory under About Us and then Contact Us. You can also fill out the contact form on your district page to reach your District Executive as well.

    where do we fine the merit badge worksheets? I only found the merit requirements.

      MeritBadge.org has all the merit badge worksheets. We hope to have them all connected to our site soon, but in the meantime, you can find them at the meritbadge.org site.

    The calendar needs some attention. We are trying to plan our scouting year and need dates for the Klondike. The dates for a lot of events are already in place but do not show up on the calendar at all: Green Bar (Sept 13-15 & Oct 4-6) , NYLT ( all three courses- Spring course is on April 11-13 & 25-27, 2014 Don’t know the dates for the 2 summer sessions) All the OA weekends, Round table dates for all districts, University of Scouting etc. It would be nice if someone could spend a day and input everything onto one site. Thanks

      Sorry for the confusion with the new calendar. Simply place your cursor over the date to see if multiple events are on that day. Only one event is viewable at a time.

        I like the new website. From a council to the southwest, we attended a SKC District Klondike last year to get more snow probability. Had a GREAT time. Trying to find Klondike dates to plan for Klondike 2014. It isn’t all that easy to find Klondike on the website.

    Where do I find information about Camp Otter Run? The reservations site lets you sign up, but the Camps site has no tab. Specifically, does it now have potable water? Where are the campsites located (you show 10 Campsites in Reservations). Who do we call to get access to the site?

    Please give us an option to veiw events in a list format, like we used to have, and not have to click on each day to see what is scheduled. This would be helpfull for finding out about events and training.
    New site is pleasing to the eye, but you have to click several times to find what you are looking for. – Suggestion remove number of clicks and menus.
    As far as being easy to find what you are looking for on the website it has gone from hard to almost impossiable. I am not trying to be negative I am just telling the truth and some times it hurts to hear the truth. – Suggestion have quick link buttons at top to often needed information to Scouters, Upcomming events – list form, Upcomming training – List form, Meritbadge counselors, etc.
    Why would you cut over to a new web page that does not have eveything entered in? There appears to be no information at all on Ti-creeks web page.

      Events shown as lists can be found by clicking on Activities under the Events tab. If you have difficulty finding something, try using the new search engine (located on the bottom right of the homepage). Tri-Creek’s information is being confirmed and placed on the site as soon as possible. They are in need of a webmaster to assist in this area if you are interested.     Is Tri-Creek having a fall Camporee? I do not have time to click on each day to see when or if there is one.

      Yes, Tri-Creek is having a fall camporee. The dates are Oct 18th, 19th, and 20th. The majority of the events will take place on the 19th and go into the evening but is an overnight event. Craig is working on finalizing and confirming details before posting anything on the website and hopes to have information posted no later than Monday.     Nice looking website but I am having trouble finding the resources that were available before the update. I am specifically looking for the Council Camp information, where is this found on the new website?

    I also do not see anythign regarding the merit badge counsolers.

      We apologize if you went looking for this information today as we had technical difficulties with the site and temporarily lost our navigation bar. We are back up! You will find information about our camps under Camping and Merit Badge information under Resources. We are working on providing a MBC search tool and should have that function up very soon. In the meantime, if you are looking for a specific MBC please contact your district Advancement Chair or District Executive.

    Where can my son find the current listing of merit badge counselors, I saved an old list prior to new website, however after making a few contact, some counselors are no longer active or the phone number are no good.
