Basic Adult Leadership Outdoor Orientation or BALOO is a required training to take Cub Scouts camping.

We will not only cover the core curriculum for your BALOO, but we will cover some Cub Scout camping best practices and give you resources to help you plan your pack’s next campout. This training is hosted by Polaris district but is open to anyone who wants to take this training. It involves camping overnight, bringing your own tent and camping supplies.

Bring your lunch for Saturday.  Dinner, Cracker Barrel, and Sunday Breakfast is included in the cost of the course.

Two-Part Training: Both parts are required.
1. Online component: The online portion of BALOO is available on the BSA Training Center. Log into My.Scouting.org and search the Course Catalog for BALOO prerequisite.
2. Practical, hands-on component: This overnight course is designed as an introduction to the Cub Scout outdoor program for leaders interested in adding a camping component to their Pack activities.

Time: 10:00 AM on Saturday – Noon on Sunday
Cost: $25 per person
