Local Boy Scout to Serve as Delegate in DC for Report to the Nation
Columbus, Ohio — Local Cub Scout Te’Lario Watkins II has been selected by the national office of the Boy Scouts of America to serve as a delegate for the annual Report to the Nation taking place March 9-14, 2019 in Washington, DC.
This is the first time a Scout from Central Ohio has been selected to serve in this special role where he be one of a few to represent the 2-million youth members of the Boy Scouts of America in our nation’s capital.
Watkins II became somewhat of a local celebrity when he started Tiger Mushroom Farms at age seven while working on one of his Cub Scout advancements. He has since grown his business, selling his shiitake and oyster mushrooms, along with shiitake-and-onion soup mix at 10 farmers markets, several restaurants, two grocery stores and a hospital. He has also been recognized for his accomplishments as an active “Hunger Hero” where he volunteers his time with Food Rescue US helping to provide meals for those in need and reduce food waste in our community.
Watkins II success as a young entrepreneur and Hunger Hero have led to an appearance on the Steve Harvey Show as well as being selected as one of “20 Under 20” by the Mayor of Columbus.
