Update on Tonight's Executive Board Meeting

Camp Master Planning Process
Tonight, the Simon Kenton Council Board discussed a recommendation provided by the Camp Master Planning Committee.

Based on the Committee’s recommendation, the Board scheduled a vote for its June 18 meeting to cease operations at Chief Logan Reservation (CLR) on September 1, 2021. This date recognizes the importance of Scouts and Scouters having an opportunity to experience an additional year of camp at CLR.

Council volunteer leadership will hold an online informational session on Wednesday, June 3 at 6:30 p.m. to provide insight into the camp master planning process and how the Committee arrived at the recommendation. We will share details on how to participate by the end of next week.

We continue to appreciate the passion and commitment of our Scouting family in ensuring we carry out the mission of Scouting to all youth.

2020 Summer Camp Season
In consideration of the health and safety of our Scouts and leaders, the Simon Kenton Council Board has made the difficult decision to cancel all summer resident and day camps.

The Council will refund deposits and other payments in their entirety and staff will be contacting registered individuals and units to make the necessary arrangements.

We recognize the disappointment many of our Scouts and Scouters may feel with this decision. To provide our members with continued Scouting activities, we are developing additional programs and will make details available within the next few weeks.
