Update from Tonight's Executive Board Meeting

Dear Scouting Family,

We’re grateful for the passion you’ve shown for Scouting as we continue moving forward during these uncertain times, and we realize the tremendous impact summer camp has had on every Scout in our council.

For many months, a large number of volunteers across our council have spent time assessing our current council properties and camp operations. They reviewed camp attendance and usage, finances and membership trends, as well geographic features of our main properties. During tonight’s meeting, the volunteer Executive Board approved a recommendation to reduce the number of properties owned by the council. In September 2021, we will close Chief Logan Reservation. We also plan to invest in upgrades to Camp Falling Rock with a goal of providing an enhanced camping experience to more youth and volunteers.

We understand the significant impact that camping at Chief Logan Reservation has had on thousands of Scouts and Scouters through the years. To honor the history and tradition of all camps, our board also approved the creation of a camp culture transition committee that will focus on bringing together the best aspects of all of our outdoor programs.

We look forward to keeping you updated on our progress in the months to come.
