Green Bar Course Adult Training

Green Bar Course is an enhanced training course for Scoutmasters, Assistant Scoutmasters, Troop Committee Chairs, Troop Committee Members, Webelos Leaders, and interested parents.

Participants will experience two awesome weekends of outdoor adventure with Scouters from throughout the Simon Kenton Council, engage in hands-on round-robin skills instruction and cooking demonstrations, live the Patrol Method, learn about the nuts and bolts of a successful and safe Scouts BSA program, and network and become friends with fellow Scout leaders and parents.

The course includes Scoutmaster and Assistant Scoutmaster Position-Specific Training and Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills Training, both required for Scoutmasters and Assistant Scoutmasters to be considered fully trained for their positions, as well as training for Troop Committee Members.  Green Bar is offered in a time-saving, two weekend format.

Graduates will be able to coach and mentor the youth in their units to develop the leadership skills necessary to plan and lead a successful, meaningful, and fun Scouts BSA program, to learn the skills required to achieve the ranks of Scout through First Class, and to become better citizens in their communities.
