Thank you all for placing on-time take-orders! BIG SHOUT OUT to all of the Scouts and Scouters who took part in the 2024 popcorn sale. If you forgot to order something or had a family show up later with an order form, there will be an opportunity to place a late order for anything that might have been missed, including Military Donations, later in the month.

TIPS FOR YOUR TAKE ORDER PICK UP: 

  1. Bring help to load your popcorn. There is always plenty to help with.
  2. Come with your back seat(s) empty and any non-essential things removed.
  3. Be patient we will work to get you in and out as quick as possible.
  4. There will not be extra popcorn on hand at the distribution sites. If you need anything you did not order as part of your take order, you can place a “Late Order” in the Pecatonica River System later in the month. This includes any forgotten Military Donations. Items ordered as a “Late Order” will be available for pick up in December.

HELPFUL LOADING TIPS

25 cases or less will fit into most standard 4 door sedans
Most truck boxes will hold between 25 – 50 cases
Up to 40 cases will fit into most SUV’s (Explorer, Blazer)
A topper or a tarp is strongly suggested for truck boxes
Up to 60 cases will fit into most Mini Vans with no seats
For orders larger than 75 cases, enclosed trailers are best
Up to 75 cases will fit into a Suburban with no seats

The online system is open for another 15 days and if you have a handful of Scouts in your unit close to a prize level, keep challenging and encouraging them to get there. They will have a feeling of pride, and accomplishment and they will probably end up qualifying for one of these awesome bonus prize levels below. 

  • $650 in sales, a Scout gets 1 of 3 BONUS prizes from the GCC prize program.
  • $2,000 in sales and a Scout qualifies for the Blue Jackets Experience. We will be at the March 28, 2024 game, where the Columbus Blue Jackets will take on the Vancouver Canucks at 6:00PM. YOU CAN REGISTER YOUR $2,000 SELLERS HERE!!! More information for the event will be in a separate email.
  • $3,000 in sales, not only does your Scout get a BONUS prize from GCC and get to go to the Blue Jackets experience, but they also qualify to receive 1 of the 8 awesome prizes in the Pecatonica River Winner’s Circle program.

Online Sales Contest:
To help get/keep your Scouts and Scout Families excited about one last online sales blitz the Simon Kenton Council will be running one more Online Sales Contest:  

  • When: 12:00AM November 1 – 11:59PM November 24
  • What: SKC will be giving away a set of 4 tickets, to 3 different units, to the Columbus Blue Jackets Game on March 28th vs the Vancouver Canucks.
  • Who: 3 Units have the opportunity to win 4 tickets, each, to the Columbus Blue Jackets vs the Vancouver Canucks on Saturday, March 28th.
  •  How: Have your Scouts share their online Seller Ids with friends and family and make a concentrated effort to sell popcorn online. One goal to motivate a Scout in your unit might be to get a sale from every state.
  • The Unit that sells the most items – will get 4 Tickets
  • The Unit that sells the highest $(dollar) amount – will get 4 Tickets
  • The Unit with the most military donations – will get 4 Tickets

In addition the Cub Scout and Scouts BSA Scout who sell the highest $(dollar) amount will receive:

  • Cub Scout – 1 Free week of Camp at a SKC Day Camp *must be used in 2025
  • Scouts BSA Scout – 1 Free week of Camp at Camp Falling Rock *must be used in 2025

HOW TO PAY YOUR INVOICE:

Your unit’s registered Popcorn Kernel will get an invoice via email for your show and sell popcorn. Payment for show and sell will be due within ten days of your receiving that invoice. You have the option to pay via ACH or you can pop a check in the mail and send it to:

HOW TO ORDER PRIZES:

For the Standard Prize Program: You can access the prize site for the regular prize program by logging into your unit profile and while on the dashboard scroll to the bottom of the page and click the box that says prizes. That button should link you to www.kellerprizeprogram.com. Follow the prompts and place your order. Please try to place one order and submit all of the prizes your Scouts have earned all at the same time.

For the Pecatonica River Winner’s Circle $3,000+ in Sales:

From your unit dashboard in the Pecatonica River System
–>Click “Winners Circle”.
–> Select the Scout’s name you want to enter into the Winners Circle.*
–> Click “Submit”  and then fill out the form

* Scouts are added to the dropdown through the Scout Seller ID process outlined in this video*

REMINDERS:  

  • After we make the needed invoice adjustments, we will begin emailing out invoices.
  • All payments must be via ACH payment or check. The Simon Kenton Council will not take credit card payments to settle popcorn balances. 
  • The online sales system stays open until November 24, 2024. An excellent opportunity for your Scouts to make some last-minute sales.
  • Online sales will show as a credit on your invoice.
  • Final invoices need to be paid by Friday, December 6, 2024.
  • The SKC Popcorn Facebook page has been very active this year. A shout out to all the volunteers who are helping answer questions and sharing tricks of the popcorn trade with fellow Scouters.
  • Prizes need to be ordered by Friday, December 6, 2024.
