Partnering with the Simon Kenton Council is more than an advertising platform: it is an opportunity to build a long-term relationship with 118,000 Scouting families and nearly 6,500 adult volunteers.
We carefully choose vendors whose branding, goods and services will serve to strengthen the principles and values of the Boy Scouts of America and the Simon Kenton Council. Partner vendors like you have the potential to positively impact the lives of our Scouting families and volunteers and have an important role in enhancing our efforts to deliver a quality educational program to youth. Scouting families will also positively enhance your business, becoming loyal customers and visibly positive representations of your brand.
Partners and the Simon Kenton Council will have the opportunity to agree in writing to the terms and expectations of the partnership. The Council will provide as much data as possible to ensure partners receive a return on their investment in the form of event support or advertising, including numbers related to event attendance or registration, publication mailings, social media reach, and email marketing results. The Council protects the privacy of our families, and therefore cannot share identifiable information about our families and volunteers. The Council may contact families on behalf of partners, and partners are welcome to invite adults to share their contact information directly. Partners are also welcome to use events to capture contact information directly from adults involved in the program, but only when information is offered by the Scouter himself or herself.
Volunteers are an integral part of the Simon Kenton Council and have an important role in introducing us to new partner prospects, but the Council cannot honor agreements with partner vendors that are made without the involvement of and the written consent of a full-time staff member of the Council.
Partners are invited to advertise goods and services to Scout families during special events, but are respectfully limited from directly selling to Scouting families, children, or adult volunteers at council or district events. Special arrangements may be made on a case-by-case basis with food vendors and special guests, with a mutually-agreed upon fee before the event or percentage of sales contributed to the Council immediately following the event.
All invoices for advertising, event visibility, direct sales opportunities, or other partner benefits provided by the Council must be paid within 30 days of being issued unless a payment plan or installment billing is mutually agreed upon prior to the invoice being issued. All payments must be made to the Simon Kenton Council, BSA and remitted to 807 Kinnear Road, Columbus, Ohio 43212.
